Gary Sloboda is a litigator with decades of experience in all aspects of civil litigation, trial, arbitration and appeals. He has successfully tried cases in California state and federal district courts, and successfully arbitrated matters before JAMS and the American Arbitration Association. He has also represented clients on appeals and writ matters before the California Courts of Appeal and before the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Gary’s litigation practice focuses on the prosecution and defense of a wide range of business, commercial, real estate and construction matters.
Gary spent his early legal career as a litigator with the international litigation firm, Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold LLP, and later was a litigator in the real estate law and litigation firm, Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP.
Prior to forming Huet-Cox & Sloboda LLP, Gary was a partner in the Marin County based litigation firm, Bailey Law Partners LLP.

Construction Contract Trial Victory
Obtained a seven-figure plaintiff’s verdict and judgment in a multi-phase jury and bench trial for a business and property owner against a contractor for breach of contract and defective construction. Recovered attorney’s fees and costs.
Defense Verdict in Antitrust Case
Successfully defended a public works subcontractor in U.S. District Court against antitrust and bid-rigging claims. Defeated plaintiff’s appeal.
Fraud and Interference Case Dismissed
Obtained complete dismissal and defense judgment for a law firm and property management company against a contractor’s fraud, interference, and conspiracy claims. Defeated appeal.
Commercial Property Sellers Defended
Obtained dismissal of all claims against sellers of a historic San Francisco commercial property in a buyer’s lawsuit for breach of contract, fraud, and quiet title.
Public Works Contract Dispute Win
Secured a seven-figure verdict in a jury trial for a subcontractor on a public works project for contract breaches, delays, and impacts. Recovered attorney’s fees and costs; defeated appeal.
Commercial Loan Judgment Secured
Won a seven-figure judgment in U.S. District Court for a lender against an international corporation for breach of commercial loan agreements. Obtained attorney’s fees and costs.
Manufacturing Contract Settlement
Arbitrated and secured a seven-figure settlement for a food manufacturer in a dispute over a breached manufacturing and packaging contract.
