Carlos represents plaintiffs and defendants in a range of civil litigation matters from inception through arbitration, trial, and appeal, including real estate, construction, professional negligence, personal injury, medical malpractice, and all varieties of contract and business disputes. He founded Huet-Cox & Sloboda LLP, along with his partner Gary Sloboda, in order to fill a gap that he recognized, after more than a decade of practice, for civil litigators that provide highly individualized representation and support for their clients.  In other words, attorneys who actually take the time to get to know each client in order to come up with a plan that reflects not just the attorneys’ approach and style but adequately reflects who the client is as well as their needs and wants. A relentless advocate, Carlos sees his clients’ problems as his own and believes deeply in providing the level of attention, care, and authenticity to his clients that he would expect if he were in their shoes.

With respect to his business and real estate clients, Carlos focuses first and foremost on trying to prevent problems before they arise, telling anyone who will listen that the most effective conflict resolution often starts before there is a conflict.  When issues inevitably arise, however, Carlos believes strongly that what must be done eventually should be done immediately.  As a career litigator, he understands the common traps and pressure points that most often result in disputes between parties, and he feels a personal responsibility towards his clients to protect not just their current interests but future interests as well by thinking through all existing and potential problems from every angle.

For victims of accidents and bodily injuries, Carlos understands how overwhelming, disorienting, and frightening it can be when you suffer an unexpected injury as a result of an accident or at the hands of a healthcare provider.  He aims to most importantly reassure his clients that they can rely on him to make sense out of a system that often feels designed to confuse and take advantage of them in a moment of intense vulnerability, and to provide honest advice about the challenges and difficulties inherent in bringing a personal injury claim, while simultaneously fighting to ensure they obtain the most favorable recovery possible to compensate for the harm they suffered.  He has handled countless injury claims ranging from auto accidents, bicycle accidents, slip and fall injuries, medical malpractice, and premises liability.
